Our Mission
Heart Beats Music School provides comprehensive, quality music education tailored to the individual needs of every student. We are a community that is committed to musical excellence. Furthermore, we view music as a tool for teaching students life skills and aiding in their personal, emotional, and academic development. We maintain a positive work environment aimed especially at supporting and educating aspiring music teachers, providing them with valuable experience and quality training.

Policies and Procedures: Groupon Customers
Scheduling your lessons
Thank you for purchasing a Groupon! We are so happy you are interested in voice lessons. Your groupon entitles you to 4 30-minute lessons, which will be scheduled weekly for 4 consecutive (whenever possible) weeks. Studio holidays and breaks will be observed, and lessons will be scheduled around these. Your teacher will provide you with materials, and you are also welcome to bring any material you are interested in learning to your lessons.
Cancellation/missed lesson policy
If you cannot attend one of your lessons for any reason, please give at least 24 hrs’ notice to your teacher, or by emailing info@heartbeatsmusicschool.com, or texting 916-520-4910. Lessons cancelled with more than 24 hrs’ notice can be rescheduled. Lessons cancelled without 24 hrs’ notice will be forfeit. Exceptions may be made for illness at the teachers’ and owner’s discretion. Refunds and credits will not be offered for cancelled or missed lessons. All lessons cancelled by the teacher will be rescheduled.
Studio holidays and breaks
❖ Labor Day & Memorial Day
❖ The Monday-Sunday surrounding Thanksgiving
❖ The Monday before Dec 25th through the first Saturday in January
❖ 1 week Spring break, TBA (Apr 3-9 2023)
❖ 1 week each summer, TBA (usually at the end of June/beginning of July)
Illness
Please note, students should not attend a lesson when they are sick—music lessons are a great way to spread colds and flu! If a student has not attended school the day of their lesson, they may not come to their lesson. Students must be fever-free for 24 hours before coming to lessons. Students who come when sick may be sent home without a make-up.
Substitute Teachers
Our school is growing fast! We are so excited about our growing team of teachers. Part of Heart Beats' mission is to provide a positive work environment for our teachers, and this includes providing them with sick time. In order to do this, our teachers will now be subbing for each other. If your teacher is out sick, you will be provided with a subtitute whenever possible. This is no longer optional, as this allows our teachers to take them time they need to get well without worrying about scheduling extra hours! It is also a great opportunity for students to be exposed to other teachers, and it’s a wonderful experience for teachers as well--it helps us all grow! If a substitute is unavailable, your lesson will still be made up.
After your groupon
We hope you love your lessons, and will consider continuing lessons at Heart Beats after your Groupon is finished! If you would like to continue, you can discuss with your teacher.
