Overview

Camps will run Monday thru Friday (general music camps), or Monday thru Thursday (singing camps), 9am-12pm. Minimum enrollment for each camp: 6

Camps

Music in the Movies!

  • Age: 6 -11

  • Dates: June 17th - 21st

  • Cost: $299

  • Experience Level: all levels, no previous knowledge of music required.

  • Participants learn about music by connecting through music they recognize from movies such as Encanto!, Aladdin, Princess and the Frog, and more. They will learn about composers, performers, rhythms and instruments of each style that influenced the music in the movies. Snacks will be provided. This camp will focus on the following:

    Listening and learning about genre

    Playing grooves on drums and other instruments

    Arts & Crafts

    Singing

    Geography

    Culture

Cantate! Singing Camp

  • Age: 6+

  • Dates: June 25th - 28th (Tues-Fri)

  • Cost: $250

  • Experience Level: Beginner and Intermediate singers welcome

  • Participants learn the fundamentals of singing, and how to sing in harmony in an ensemble. Students will participate in a mini-performance for parents on the last day of camp.

  • Beginning singers: No experience needed!

    Intermediate Singers should:

    -Be able to match pitch (Accurately sing/match a note they hear)

    • Be familiar with basic rhythms, from 8th notes to whole notes.

    • Be familiar with basic staff reading concepts, such as high and low/up and down on the staff when reading music

Melody Makers Composer Camp

  • Age: 8 -14

  • Dates: July 8th - 12th (date change!)

  • Cost: $299

  • Experience Level: Late beginner/early intermediate. Click below to learn more.

  • Participants will learn the basics of composing, exploring the fundamentals of rhythm, melody, harmony, notation, and song-writing/arranging. Participants will end the camp with a portfolio of composed works. Snacks will be provided.

  • Late beginner/early intermediate. I.e., CM level 1+. Participants should be proficient in the following:

    Rhythm reading: 8th notes - whole notes

    Strong reading in treble and bass clef

    Ability to play scales: C, G, D, A, Major, a minor, and recognize key signatures

    Knowledge of Primary chords for the above keys.

Symphony Safari Camp

An Introduction to the Instruments of the Symphony

  • Age: 6 -12

  • Dates: July 15th - 19th

  • Cost: $325

  • Experience Level: beginner-intermediate; no previous knowledge of music required.

  • Participants will learn about the instruments of the symphony by listening to illustrative orchestral works, and be exposed to classic orchestral literature. They will hear live demonstrations of the various instruments. Snacks will be provided.

    Pieces will include:

    Peter and the Wolf

    Carnival of Animals

    The Nutcracker

    Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons

    Fantasia

    And more!
