This guide provides a complete overview of the lessons and classes available through Heart Beats Music School for students enrolling with partnering charter schools.

We offer a range of options for students of all ages, from toddlers through high school, including:

  • Private music lessons in piano, voice, guitar, violin, bass, flute, oboe, and saxophone
  • Group classes through the nationally recognized Harmony Road Program, designed to build total musicianship from the very beginning
  • Introductory short courses that provide a preview of our semester-length programs

Key Information

  • Tuition: Prices are listed per program and cover instruction for the entire semester or monthly private lessons.
  • Materials & Fees: Some classes require materials and deposits, which are listed with each program.
  • Commitment:
    • Group Classes (Harmony Road & others): Enrollment is a commitment for the full semester. No refunds, credits, or early withdrawals are permitted once a semester begins.
    • Private Lessons: Year-round programs (47 lessons annually). A minimum of 30 days’ written notice is required to discontinue lessons.
  • Structure: Group classes follow a semester calendar; private lessons run continuously year-round.
  • Participation: Parent or caregiver involvement is a core part of our early childhood and Harmony Road classes.

🎵 Private Lessons

Private lessons are available for piano, voice, guitar, violin, bass, flute, oboe, and saxophone.
Individualized instruction for all ages, beginning at age 4.

  • 30-Minute Lesson

    • Price: $165/month
    • Duration & Frequency: 30 minutes, weekly, year-round (~47 lessons/year)
    • Additional Fees: $45 registration fee due at enrollment and annually each August

  • 45-Minute Lesson

    • Price: $215/month
    • Duration & Frequency: 45 minutes, weekly, year-round (~47 lessons/year)
    • Additional Fees: $45 registration fee due at enrollment and annually each August

  • 60-Minute Lesson

    • Price: $265/month
    • Duration & Frequency: 60 minutes, weekly, year-round (~47 lessons/year)
    • Additional Fees: $45 registration fee due at enrollment and annually each August

🎶 Harmony Road Group Class Program

The Harmony Road group class curriculum teaches total musicianship for beginners of different ages.
Students learn piano, rhythm, singing, ear training, and ensemble work. Parent/caregiver participation is essential.

👶 Toddler Tunes Series

Joyful first music experiences for young children and their caregivers.
Through songs, rhythm instruments, and playful movement, children build listening, coordination, and social skills.
Classes may be repeated.

  • Toddler Tunes (TT)

    • Ages: 18 months – 3.5 years
    • Price: $300 tuition + $25 materials = $325
    • Duration: 30 minutes, weekly, 16-week semester
    • Fees: $75 deposit required (applied toward tuition)

  • Toddler Tunes 2

    • Continuation with new songs, games, and activities (non-progressive, may repeat)
    • Ages: 18 months – 3.5 years
    • Price: $325
    • Duration: 30 minutes, weekly, 16-week semester
    • Fees: $75 deposit required

  • Toddler Tunes 3

    • Another variation with additional songs and rhythm play (non-progressive, may repeat)
    • Ages: 18 months – 3.5 years

🎹 Music in Me Series

Gentle introduction to music reading concepts through singing, rhythm, movement, and keyboard activities.
Classes may be repeated for reinforcement. Parent participation required.

  • The Music in Me (MIM)

    • Ages: 3.5 – 4.5 years
    • Price: $340 tuition + $30 materials = $370
    • Duration: 45 minutes, weekly, 16-week semester
    • Fees: $75 deposit required

  • More Music in Me (MMIM)

    • Continuation of MIM (not prerequisite; may repeat)
    • Ages: 3.5 – 4.5 years
    • Price: $370

Each level builds progressively; completion of the prior level is required.

Beginning pathway for older beginners. Gradual introduction to formal music reading with parent participation.
