The discounted private lesson rate applies to families with multiple private students or students studying more than one instrument. Two qualifying 30-minute lessons total $320/month.
Charter purchase orders: use the private lesson rate for your student’s lesson length. Harmony Road group tuition is separate. Arrange charter payment with the office; standard automatic billing may not apply.
What monthly private lesson tuition includes
Annual private lesson tuition is divided into 12 equal monthly payments, accounting for the school calendar. Your monthly rate stays the same with three, four, or five scheduled lessons.
47 annual sessions: 43 private lessons + four Musicianship Week classes. Group classes replace regular private lessons during those four weeks.
47 private lessons annually. Adult students continue with private lessons during Musicianship Week.

Private lesson payment essentials
Automatic monthly billing
Private lesson tuition is charged on the first of each month. Charter families arrange payment separately with the office.
Cards or bank transfer
A credit or debit card is required at private lesson registration. You can switch to ACH in your activated Student Portal; ACH is preferred. Cash and checks are not accepted.
Books & materials
Private lesson books and materials are additional costs; instrument students also need a home instrument. School-purchased materials include a 5% procurement fee; you may buy assigned materials yourself.
More private lesson billing details
Private lesson payments not received by the 10th incur a $25 late fee. Lessons may be suspended if payment has not been received by the 20th, until the balance is settled.
Private lesson tuition and fees are reviewed annually. Adjustments take effect August 1, with new rates communicated by July 1. The $45 private lesson registration fee supports recital venues, lesson services, and student resources. It is nonrefundable and is not prorated.

Flexible enrollment
Private lessons have no fixed-term commitment. Withdrawal requires the official form; your 30-day notice starts when we receive it. Tuition remains due during that period, whether or not you attend.

Notify the office in writing at least 24 hours ahead to qualify for a makeup credit, subject to limits. Makeup availability isn’t guaranteed. Same-day cancellations, including illness, do not qualify. Please stay home when sick.
Private lesson makeup limits & timing
Up to two credits per quarter September–May, with no more than two outstanding; up to four June–August, with no more than four outstanding. Makeups must be taken within 90 days and before enrollment ends. Availability is not guaranteed.
For short-notice illness or emergencies, your teacher uses the reserved private lesson time for remote support.
Musicianship Weeks
Four times a year, private students 18 and under join group classes for theory, ear training, music history, and performance activities instead of their regular private lesson. Private students 19 and older continue their usual lessons.

If something isn’t working in your private lessons, contact the office so we can explore options together. Missed private lessons are not refunded or credited toward tuition. Tuition already paid is nonrefundable, and the usual 30-day withdrawal notice applies.
Private lesson tuition details
The current month’s private lesson tuition is nonrefundable on withdrawal.
If your notice extends into the next month, tuition is due for scheduled lessons within that part of the notice period. The office confirms your final balance.
