A strong foundation for wherever you want to go.
Every student comes in with different interests. The fundamentals that make those interests possible are surprisingly consistent. Our students build strong technique, reading, rhythm, theory, ear skills, and musical understanding—then learn to use those skills in the music that matters to them.
That might mean classical repertoire, jazz improvisation, pop, composing, accompanying, or something they haven’t discovered yet. We want students to have the skills to choose their direction rather than be limited by what they never learned.

Where could piano take you?
There’s room for
your kind of ambition.
Some students simply want to make music they love. Others want to dig deeply into classical repertoire or pursue goals like Certificate of Merit, competitions and festivals, AP Music Theory exam preparation, additional performance opportunities, or advanced study. Whatever their goals, they’ll have a teacher with the depth to help them keep growing.

A whole school around you
Make music in a community that’s cheering you on.
Three recitals each year give students the chance to share what they’ve been working on—whether it’s a first performance or one of many. Families, teachers, and fellow students come together to listen, celebrate, and cheer each other on.

A welcoming place for first performances and new challenges.

Before you begin
A few good questions.
Starting with a young child? Harmony Road is a wonderful introduction for many children ages 3–7. We’ll help you choose the right starting point.

You’ll meet your prospective teacher and try a piano lesson. It’s a chance to make music, talk about your interests, and see how learning together feels before deciding to enroll. No prior experience or music-reading skills are needed.
Do we need a piano at home?
You’ll need an instrument for practice once lessons begin. An acoustic piano or a digital piano with 88 weighted keys meets our starting guidance. Already own a keyboard? Tell us what you have, and we’ll help you work out the next step before you buy anything.
As students advance, an acoustic piano may become the better fit. We can also help with purchasing or rental guidance.
Do you teach adults and returning pianists?
Yes. Start from the beginning, return after years away, or work on music you’ve always wanted to play. Your teacher adjusts the pace and focus to your experience and interests. Adults receive private lessons during Musicianship Weeks, too.
What if I already have experience?
Your trial gives your teacher a chance to hear you play and learn what you’d like to work on. We welcome transfer students and experienced pianists, including students interested in advanced repertoire, Certificate of Merit, or other performance and evaluation opportunities.
How does practice work?
Your teacher gives you an assignment sheet to guide practice between lessons. You’ll know what to work on and how to approach it. Parents are welcome to sit in on lessons and learn how to support practice at home.
