Often, yes. Because of increased summer flexibility, travel schedules, and school being out, we can sometimes accommodate requests to adjust lesson times for summer. If you would like to request a different lesson time, please reach out early and we’ll do our best to help.
In many cases we can also accommodate flexible summer lesson formats such as fewer, longer lessons while still maintaining the same overall amount of lesson time.
Private lesson students may accumulate up to 4 make-up credits during the summer quarter (June–August) instead of the usual 2. As always, make-up credits expire after 90 days.
Some workshops may be attended using make-up credits, while others are paid enrichment workshops only. Workshop registration takes place through the student portal calendar, and each workshop section above explains how registration and make-up options work.
Yes. We encourage students to attend with their own teacher whenever possible, but students may often attend workshops with other teachers of their instrument if schedules allow.
Some workshops require a minimum of 3 students to proceed. Sign-ups close 48 hours before the workshop so we can confirm enrollment and notify families if a workshop will not run.
If a make-up workshop is canceled, any make-up credit used for registration will be returned to your account.
Yes! Summer is a wonderful time to explore a new instrument or add something different alongside regular lessons. We’ll be offering flexible summer lesson packages for students interested in trying something new.

Each year we rebuild much of the school schedule in August based on teacher availability, enrollment growth, and student scheduling requests.
In July, currently enrolled students will receive a schedule request form for fall. Schedule requests will be due by July 31, and we plan to begin releasing finalized fall schedules by approximately August 8.
Students who remain continuously enrolled through the summer will be included in our first round of priority scheduling. Because many teachers are nearing capacity, students returning after a summer break may have more limited scheduling options and may not be guaranteed the same teacher or preferred schedule.
Please reach out to us as early as possible. We’re often able to help families find flexible solutions that allow students to continue progressing while still accommodating summer travel and activities.
As always, private lessons require 30 days’ written notice for withdrawal.
